Read moreThe Okfuskee County OHCE Clearview Brown Suggas Club (left to right) Rita Cooksey, Henrietta Hicks, Shirley Nero, and Elaine Evans along with five members of the Okemah Club, Carla Schooling, Brandi Bumgardner and daughter Sarai, Ginny Bumgardner, Sherry Largent, and Educator Jan Maples attended the Northeast District meeting. McIntosh, Muskogee, and Wagoner Counties hosted the all-day event. The counties decorated the Armed Forces Center in their theme of “Red, White, and Blue and OHCE Too!” with tables of flags, sand, stars, candles, ribbons, and more. The Broken Arrow High School ROTC opened the meeting with the presentation of Colors and Flag Folding. The 300-plus OHCE members and guest sang “You’re A Grand Old Flag” and “America the Beautiful.” Retired Brigadier General Tom Mancino served as guest speaker. He gave the history of the military museum established at the Armed Forces Center in 2013.
