Went back to “Sweet Home Alabama.” No, I never lived there but my dad came west from there. A place called Gadsden. Whenever I visit there I wonder why they chose to leave this beautiful part of Alabama and move to a somewhat unimproved place called Leflore County, Oklahoma. But they did and in my journeys there I found out their reasons.

Shirley Nero of Clearview spoke on the “Recognition of 13 Black Townships of Oklahoma and the keynote speaker was Major Dr. M. L. Jemison of Oklahoma City.
