Wetumka Fire Department recently provided mutual aid to the Weleetka Fire Department during a dual structure fire at the corner of 8th and Choctaw Streets in Weleetka. According to Wetumka’s new Fire Chief, Cody Wright, the Weleetka Fire Department was initially re- sponding to a grass fire when the structure fire broke out.

Read moreDr. Claud and Elaine Evans entertained cousins from California and Kansas City in their home in Okemah. Her cousins once visited when her parents were alive and lived in Clearview and Okemah. They came back to relive old memories. While here, they toured the old home place and toured the new spots in Clearview such as the Oklahoma African American Educators Hall of Fame and the Welcome Center. Cousins from left to right: Patricial Brunson, Corranzo and LaTonya Lewis (Kansas City, Kansas) and Carroll Morris (San Jose, California). Corranzo is married into the family.
