Clearview News: Clearview Town has received a Community Rural grant to create an exterior wall mural depicting the history of the town. The mural will be placed on the west wall of the Clearview Main Street Community Building. A prominent artist from Oklahoma City will create the mural from local photos of historical buildings and early people of Clearview. Remember those who need prayers in our community: Marguerite French, Alpheus Grundy, Billy Walker, Cornell Lucas, Otis Davis, and those suffering from COVID-19.
Read moreClearview, Indian Territory was established in 1903. During those early years of the town’s history, many grocery and dry good stores popped up along Hattie Street (present day Main Street). One of those stores was belonged to Jeff Horn and his wife Rosanna. The Horn’s moved from Texas to begin their new life in a new town. Not only did he own a store, he soon established himself as owning a vast number of acres of farmland to grow cotton and other crops. In addition, he and his wife raised their granddaughter Dessie Idalee Roberts.
