Read moreCinda Louise McGirt passed away Thursday, January 14th, 2021 in Glen Rose, Texas. Cinda was born June 9, 1955 in Oklahoma City to Ambrose Cully and Minnie Lee Tiger Cully. Cinda graduated from Bowlegs High School and later married Roland McGirt on October 17, 1980 in Sasakwa. Cinda worked as a Medical Aid. Cinda was a member of Sand Creek Eufaula Baptist Church in Wewoka. Cinda is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Roland McGirt and son, Roland McGirt II and granddaughter Ambre Cheyenne Cully. Cinda is survived by her children, Jonathan McGirt, James McGirt and Shannon Cully, sisters, Patricia Morgal of Earlsboro and Teresa McGirt of Wewoka, brothers, Frank West of Edmond, Ambrose Cully, Jr. of Tulsa, Jimmy Cully of Pauls Valley and Benjamin Emarthle of Wetumka, six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral Service was held at 1:00 p.m. Monday January 25, 2021 at Sand Creek Eufaula Baptist Church in Wewoka with Pastor Houston Tiger officiating and burial followed at McGirt Family Cemetery in Sasakwa. Pallbearers were Bruce Tiger, Bryant Panoske, Michael George, Franklin West, Tobe Hulbutta and Kieth Billie.

Even in Ms. Elliot’s 5 grade class, while some of us were mastering how to draw (during class) pictures of those little fighter planes the Germans, Japs and Americans flew, Bobby was wondering out loud about which ones had the biggest motors. Bobby knew that the English had installed (in their Spitfire Fighters) a Rolls Royce engine giving it enough speed to shoot down the dreaded German fighter planes. And he was the one who told those of us that the Luftwaffe would soon have jets.
