Wetumka School Board meets; Class sponsors approved

The Wetumka Board of Education held their regular meeting, September 7 at 7:00 PM in the Administrative Office Board Room. The following members, administrators, personnel and guests were present: Donna McGee, Rufus Scott, Allen Poole, Nina Maas and Misti Pack. John Curtis and Donnie Williamson were absent.

One Pharmacist’s View

Last Sunday was a great day here in Allen. Anyone who ventured downtown last Sunday morning would notice that starting at the intersection of HWY 48 and Broadway, the street was closed. Big fire trucks had closed it both ways and on both ends. For those who had forgotten, last Sunday was when we had our city-wide back to church blast. Most of the churches closed down early and headed for Allen’s basketball gymnasium to have a city-wide church service. Its purpose was to give the community a chance to get together and engage in Sunday worship. It was to help us get over the Covid times of low attendance and encourage everyone to get back in church. The Pandemic seems to be winding down now and no one wants the town’s churches to wind down too.

Patricia Ann (Burleson) Glasco passed away Thursday, September 16, 2021, at the age of 81. She was born January 14, 1940 in Tulsa to Cleo Whitley and Opal Irene (Crow) Burleson. She was married September 20, 1958 to J. W. Glasco. They made their home in Holdenville in 1970, where Patricia served as a secretary and then teacher for many years.
