Clearview OHCE Group Meet

The Clearview OHCE Brown Suggas met on Monday evening at 5:00 p.m. for their monthly meeting at the Main Street Community Building. Special guest of evening was Dotte’ Bennett, formerly of Okemah and a Brown Sugga visited the group. Dotte’ lives in Damondhead, Mississippi where her children reside. Dotte’ shared her new life in Mississippi and photos. Of course, her traveling partner and best friend for over forty years was no stranger to the group shared traveling stories she and Dotte’ have gone on and future travel plans. Both ladies are widows and have more miles to travel together. After a great meal together, the group discussed plans for the fall with OHCE and said then bid farewell to Dotte’ and Sheila.

Black Town Mayors Meet In Clearview

The mayors met on Saturday, July 16 in Clearview to discuss strategies to assist in future develop of their towns. The major discussion at this meeting was the upcoming Oklahoma State Black Town Conference at the Oklahoma History Center on August 20 . The towns and all other towns in Oklahoma are invited to meet with eight Oklahoma government departments who have agreed to inform and assist towns with what their agencies offer. The towns meet every other month in one of the Black towns. The next meeting is September 17 th in Grayson at 11:00 a.m. The public is invited to attend all meeting.

A huge crowd gathered to welcome Jessica Beck as the new local agent of Farm Bureau Insurance in Holdenville. Customers, co-workers, family and friends came out to help her celebrate. Jessica said she is looking forward to spending many years here and giving back to their insureds and the community.
