David Edward Pope, 75, of Holdenville, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2025, with his daughter, brother, and sister-in-law by his side. David courageously fought chronic diseases and illnesses in the last 5 years of his life and pressed on with fervor until his body no longer cooperated. David was born December 17, 1949, in Shreveport, Louisiana to Julian Pope and Evelyn (Edwards) Pope.

This year’s event is being hosted by the Blue Devils’ Class of 1965 as they celebrated the 60th anniversary of their high school graduation. The community building will open at 9:00 am with a potluck lunch planned for 12:00 noon. The individual coming the farthest and the oldest person present will be recognized.

Funeral services for Virginia Sue “Hokte” Whitetree will be held Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Salt Creek Indian Baptist Church of Wetumka. Wake services will be Monday 7:00 PM also at the church. A prayer service will be Monday, 6:00 – 7:00 PM at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel of Wetumka. Interment will be held at the Scott – Fish Family Cemetery of Wetumka.
