Celebration of Life Johnny West

FEBRUARY 22, 1935 - SEPTEMBER 4, 2023 Vernon AME Church Monday, September 11, 2023 - 11:00AM 311 North Greenwood Tulsa, OK 74106 Johnny West was the sixth born child to Irving and Bernice West on February 22, 1935. Born a preemie, and once thought to not survive, Johnny took the world by storm. He attended grade school in Drumright, OK and graduated with the class of 1954 from Lincoln High School in Bristow, Ok.

Okfuskee County Free Fair

The Clearview Home Extension Brown Suggas participated in the Okfuskee County Free Fair on September 7-8, 2023. They placed in several categories including plants, canning, baking, and photography. They brought back four outstanding ribbons, seven first place ribbons, six second place ribbons, and one third place ribbon. Thanks to Shirley Nero, Marilyn Jackson, Elayne Evans, and Henrietta Hicks for their entries and to Shirley Nero and Rita Cooksey for serving as superintendents and for Elayne Evans and Edith Jimboy for working the concession stands. The Suggas are an outstanding club for the Okfuskee County Home Extension Club.

Goldie Coralee Stapp

Goldie Coralee (Phelps) Stapp passed away at her home in McAlester, OK, on September 2, 2023. She was 78. She was born December 21, 1944, to Rollie Banks (R.B.) and Addie Mildred (Yarberry) Phelps in Holdenville, OK. She attended elementary school at Lamar School and graduated from Moss High School in 1962.
