Christmas is God’s Extraordinary Opportunity

Christmas was bleak when I was fourteen years old. My father had fallen off the roof our barn while trying to make a repair. He was severely injured. His hospital and home recovery rook months. The French Family to Celebrate

The French family of the late Lawrence and Marguerite French continue to keep their tradition of meeting in Clearview for the holidays. This year, their Christmas celebration will be held at the Clearview Main Street Community Building on December 30th . The planners have promised a day filled with games, presents, and food for all those in attendance. Marguerite lived to be 104-years old and was able to see five generations of descents come her way.

Clearview Families Gather for the Holidays.

Descents of Roy and Mary Ann Ballard gathered for two days in the homes of Marilyn Jackson and Shirley Nero to celebrated Christmas. It has always been a tradition to return to Clearview to celebrate during this time of year. When Roy and Mary Ann passed, the family maintained the home place and returned each year to celebrate until Marilyn and Shirley retired and moved back to Clearview and kept the tradition. This year, Marilyn hosted the pre-Christmas celebration of matching pajamas and dirty-Santa gifts, and Shirley hosted the Christmas day dinner. Roy and Mary Ann had three daughters who gave them eight grandchildren, who gave them fifteen great-grandchildren. Unfortunately, they did not meet all their grandchildren nor any of their great grandchildren, but their memories are kept alive through the stories told each year.
