Seems like we spend a lot of time dealing with trash. It’s everywhere and there is lots of it. I remember living over at Stonewall. “Take the trash out” meant taking it out to the burn barrel and sticking a match to it. This got rid of most of it as we sent the stinking stuff into the atmosphere to pollute the atmosphere. It was gone with the wind as far as I was concerned. Residue of ashes and other non-burnable gradually filling the barrel with ashes would be hauled off to the dump and you could start all over. Environmental damages? Not a worry for me.

Juneteenth Celebration in Clearview

On Saturday, June 19, 2021, a crowd came to Clearview to participate in the National Federal Holiday of Juneteenth. Beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the Clearview Main Street Center, the town dedicated the Historical Clearview Mural and unveiled the OAAE Hall of Fame Kiosk. Later, participants moved over to the old school gym where they were greeted by Selby Miner & Blues Band of Rentiesville, Oklahoma. The band played during a delicious lunch served by Bronko’s BBQ. Later, guest heard from a panel who answered questions from emcee Dr. Donnie Nero on various issues concerning Black towns and current events. Those serving on the panel included Historian Bruce Fisher, U. S. Congressman J. C. Watts Jr., Judge David Lewis, and Senator Roger Thompson, followed by a Q&A. This event served as a fundraiser for the old school gym maintenance and restoration. There were plenty of souvenirs on hand. Thanks to all who participated to make this holiday a success.

On June 5, 2021, Kade Robertson went to Stillwater

On June 5, 2021, Kade Robertson went to Stillwater to participate in the the OCCA Summer Sensation Show and the OJCA 2021 Preview Show. Kade showed his Futurity Steers, Commercial Heifer and Mini Hereford during both shows bringing home a total of two second place, two third place and two sixth place awards. He also helped fellow showman Jayden Young, who showed her Miss JG Title Jet – Breed Champion Brangus Heifer and calf and JG Miss Tubby Option – Reserve Breed Brangus Heifer at the OJCA Summer Preview. Kade also traveled to a show in Missouri this past weekend. This young man has been very busy! Congratulations!
