Thank you to all those who showed up during Memorial Day to decorate the graves of their loved ones and donate to the maintenance of the cemeteries. Although, the weather was a factor in low attendance and our donations are down we will continue to receive your contributions at the Town of Clearview, 302 West Main Street, Clearview, 74880. Please continue your prayers for those on the sick list Joyce Barrett, Sharon Johnson Patton, L. C. Carson, Marjorie Plunkett, Kevin Sinnett, Kurrilue Johnson, Billy Walker, Cornell Lucas, Eugene” Cowboy” Tyler, Peter and Helen Bush with pneumonia, and Jean Chatman.

The George Kaiser Family Foundation brings in a diverse, bright, and driven individuals to the city of Tulsa for community building, collaboration, and networking. They come in from all parts of the United States. They are given some money upfront to help with relocation expenses, a monthly stipend to keep things moving, and the rest is given when they finished the first year of commitment. This group decided to enrich their stay by touring the original thirteen incorporated Black towns of Oklahoma. The month of May, the concluded the third leg of the tour by visiting Grayson, Clearview, and Boley. In Grayson, they met Mayor Leon Anderson at the Grayson Community Center. In Clearview, they met with Mayor Marilyn Jackson at the Clearview Main Street Community Center. In Boley, they met with Mayor Dr. Francis Shelton at the Boley Community Center. The group was able to hear the town’s histories and tour the towns while visiting the communities. Each month the group varies in size and participates. Several of the participants have been on all three legs. The next leg, the group will visit Tatums and Lima.

Read moreWhat a happy and Glorious day it was for Sue Hill Easter Sunday when 12 family members attended church service at the Living Water Church and to Sue’s house for dinner. Those attending church with her was her daughter Kathy Hart of Blanchard, granddaughter Natasha and John Wilbourn, great-granddaughter Breanna Jones of Okemah, her son Mike Hill, grandson Rowdy Hill of Konawa and his girlfriend Kimber of Shawnee, grandson Cody, Kyleigh, Avery and twins Hadley Mae and Harper Lynn Butler of Stonewall, OK. Those there for dinner were great-grandson Nate Merriman, great-granddaughter Olivia Merriman of Holdenville, and Natasha’s dad, JD from Tulsa. Later we had an Easter egg hunt for the three granddaughters of Mike Hill. It was the best Easter we have had for several years and it will not be forgotten.
