The Town of Clearview will be sponsoring a community holiday dinner on December 15th at 5:00 pm. at the Clearview Main Street Community Building at no cost to the public. All are welcome to attend. Ted Jackson is now home after spending a week in Hillcrest South Hospital. He is doing better but will need future testing and treatment. Read more2 cups salted roasted peanuts (12 ox.) can 1 cup light corn syrup ½ cup water ½ cup (1 stick) butter or margarine 1-pound golden brown sugar (2 1/3 cups packed) 1 teaspoon vanilla 2 teaspoon baking soda Spread peanuts in a shallow pan and place in a 200-degree oven. Combine water, sugar, syrup, and butter in a 3-quart heavy saucepan. Place over high heat; stir constantly until boiling. Place thermometer in mixture and continue cooking to degrees (hard-crack stage). Stir often to prevent burning. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla and hot peanuts. Add soda and stir until foamy. Quickly pour into two greased cookie sheets. Spread as thin as possible. As soon as brittle begins to set, flip over on board, and pull as thin as possible. Cool. Break into pieces. Makes 2 ½ pounds.

Read moreMy family enjoys celebrating Thanksgiving. We like to get together and eat a big dinner, my favorite is the pie. The kids all get to play outside while we wait on the food to get done. We always bless the food and thank God and Jesus for all we have. These are some things I like about Thanksgiving. Mark Smith I like Thanksgiving a lot! One reason is because of the food. I especially like green bean casserole. My Aunt makes the very best. My grandma brings lemon pie and it’s delicious. I’m also thankful that all my family is together on Thanksgiving Day. We all have a good time eating and telling jokes. I’m also thankful for my dog and my goats. These are some of the reasons I’m thankful for on Thanksgiving Day. I love when the ball goes through the net and goes “swoosh.” My favorite thing to do is dribble and break someone’s ankles. My favorite basketball player ever is Kyrie Irving. When I get older I want to dunk it like the G.O.A.T Michael Jordan. I wish I could meet my idol Allen Iverson.
