Our sympathy is extended to the family of Linda Tyler

Linda Sue Tyler of Wetumka, Oklahoma passed from this life on September 17, 2025, in Midwest City at the age of 78.

Linda was born in Wetumka, on January 3, 1947, to Ernest and Irene Dunn. She attended Wetumka High School, and continued her education at East Central University, where she earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees. On December 2, 1966, Linda married Howard L. Tyler Jr. They spent their years together in Wetumka, making Linda a lifelong resident.

Linda taught Special Education for over 30 years. She spent her career teaching at Henryetta, Wetumka, and Holdenville schools. Linda was a member of the Wetumka Hyechka Club, and the Wetumka Red Hat Ladies. She served on the Wetumka Public Library Board, and the Wetumka Sucker Day Committee for many years. She was also active in leading the Wetumka 4H while she taught at Wetumka Schools.

Linda enjoyed spending her spare time looking at and collecting cookbooks and travelling to Mexico.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Irene Dunn; her son, Matthew Tyler; sisters, Bonnie Packard and Mary Brown; brother, Jack Irwin; and her nephews, Todd Lindsey and Jimmy Brown.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Howard L. Tyler Jr.; her son, Jason Tyler; grandchildren, Blake Tyler, Kadence Tyler, Avery Tyler, Olivia Guinn, Kenzi Taylor, and Kasside Mankin; great-grandson, Ace Taylor; nephews, Kent Lindsey, Craig Lindsey, Eric Lindsey; niece, Brandi Brown; and nephews, Sam Tyler, Max Tyler, and Bo Tyler; as well as many other relatives, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, Linda's family has asked for

donations to be made to Wetumka Schools Special Education Department (Wetumka Schools, 416 S. Tiger, Wetumka, OK, 74883, ATTN: Special Ed. Dept.) or to the Wetumka Library (Wetumka Library, 202 N. Main Street, Wetumka, OK, 74883). Visitation for Linda Tyler will be held at Williamson-Spradlin Funeral Home was held Monday, September 22, from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM in the Spradlin Memory Chapel.

Funeral Services for Linda Tyler were held at Wetumka First Baptist Church, on Tuesday, September 23, at 2:00 PM. With interment following at Wetumka Cemetery.

Dr. Daniel Ingle officiated.

Services were under the direction of Williamson-Spradlin Funeral Home of Wetumka.
