Ozell Gerene Merriman Youngblood passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at the age of 95.

Daughter of the late Ernest and Ruby Merriman, Ozell was born February 1, 1930 in Gum Springs, Oklahoma. After 26 years Ozell retired from the Holdenville General Hospital in 1995. She enjoyed quilting, traveling, reading, cooking and spending as much time with her sisters, and children.

Survivors include her daughter Linda Nichols and husband Joe David, daughter Brenda Ellis and husband Brad, and

son Joe Youngblood; grandchildren, James David Nichols (Niki), Jennifer Nichols, Scotty Martin (Krystal), Ron Youngblood Jr. (Stephanie), Monica Huffman (Benjamin), Brandi Cludine (Jesse), Staci Ellis (Cody), Travis Hewitt (Kristen), and Matthew Youngblood (Carrie); her great-grandchildren Johnathan Merchain, Chloe Clubine, Carleigh Martin, Oakley and Kimber Martin, Cooper Nichols, Parker Jo Huffman, Ronald Brooks Huffman, Jimmie Hewitt, Brodie Hewitt, Addie Jo Hewitt, Bentlie Hewitt, and Cadon Youngblood; sister Lorettie Davis (CW) of Abilene, Texas, brother Jerry Merriman of Holdenville and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Ozell was preceded in death by two sons, Jimmy W. Youngblood and Ronald L. Youngblood, and her sisters Wanda J. Grizzle and Jessie L. Hiltibidal.

Services are entrusted to Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home where we will celebrate her life with viewing from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 27th, and there will be visitation for family and friends on Wednesday, May 28th, from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m., at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home before going to the graveside service at Holdenville Cemetery. Graveside prayer by James David Nichols. Pallbearers are her grandsons and great-grandsons.
