William “Bill” Harris

William ‘Bill’ Chorner Harris was born on November 25, 1943, in El Centro, California to James Floyd Harris and Elfie Ameda (Faulkenberry) Harris. He passed from this life on May 10, 2025, in Holdenville, Oklahoma.
Born in California during World War II, Bill was the third of eleven children. As a young child, his family moved to Oklahoma. He attended Holdenville Schools for some time and later graduated from Calvin High School. Following high school, he attended Southwestern Christian University in Oklahoma City.
In April of 1963, he married Alma Oleta Timmons. Together they raised their three children, as well as many foster children.
Bill was ordained as a Pentecostal Holiness Minister and pastored in several Pentecostal Holiness Churches. He first pastored at Byers, then Wynona, Iron Stob, and settled at Living Water in Wetumka. He later managed the Tiger Mountain Campground. Over many years and continued to fill in for churches that needed him. Countless people were taught by him through Sunday school and church camps. Bill served 61 years and maintained his membership to Living Water Church. He was also a roofer and a carpenter, and he loved horses. His most important hobby though, was always caring for others.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Alma; and siblings, James (Jinky), Rita and Barbara.
Left to cherish his memory are two sons, William Timothy Harris and Michele of Nacogdoches, Texas, and Stephen Floyd Harris and Kimberly of Holdenville; daughter, Aleta Faith Young of Holdenville; many foster children including Amy, Tabitha and Christina; three brothers, David Harris of Horntown, Jacky Harris and Debbie of Holdenville, and Wayne Harris and Linda of Elmore City; also, Fred Causley, who was like a brother; sisters, Mary McDonald and Danny of McAlester, Gail Linton and Gene of Ada, Brenda Turpin and Shelly of Non, and Tonya Rogers and Timmy of Stuart; twelve grandchildren, Ty, Jacob, Alexis, Megan, Kevin, Jason (Jaquelin), Chrissy (Aaron), Tiffani, Levi, Isaac (Grace), Mckenzie, and Conner; 8 great grandchildren, Carlee, Kaylee, Paxton, Theodore, Jordan, Jackie, Luke, and Elizabeth; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Isaac Harris, Ty Harris, Kevin Harris, Jason Harris, Jacob Young, Conner Harris and Levi Harris. Honorary pallbearers will be Sandy Heape, Everett Smith, Denton Bray and great grandson Jordan Harris.
Visitation for William ‘Bill’ Harris will be held at Williamson- Spradlin Funeral Home on Friday, May 16, 2025, from 9:00 AM until 8:00 PM.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Living Water Church in Wetumka at 10:00 AM.
Services are under the direction of Williamson-Spradlin Funeral Home of Wetumka.
